Meet Coach Amy Sweeney!

Working out should be about how it makes you feel, not what you look like. Aesthetics are just a bonus side-effect. When you focus on being healthy and moving regularly, exercise becomes a celebration of what your body can do, rather than a punishment.”
— Coach Amy Sweeney

Tell us about your journey to becoming a fitness instructor.

I have had a lifelong passion for health and wellness. After almost 10 years of being a stay-at-home mom to my four boys, I decided to make fitness my new career. I like the flexibility it allows and the focus on helping people bring exercise into their own lives. My hope is to make a positive impact on the world by making healthy living and exercise inclusive to everyone.

How would your riders describe your classes?

Riders would describe my classes as upbeat, energetic, music-driven, supportive, and open to all levels. I strive to be a coach to everyone, from beginners to advanced, making it a well-rounded workout from start to finish.

As a coach, what are your top sources of inspiration and motivation?

Being healthy, feeling good, and getting strong are my motivations. Working out should be about how it makes you feel, not what you look like. Aesthetics are just a bonus side-effect. When you focus on being healthy and moving regularly, exercise becomes a celebration of what your body can do, rather than a punishment.  I always encourage my students to focus on the positive effects on their mood and energy levels after taking a class, to thank themselves for putting in the effort to come to class, and to respect the hard work their body does for them.

What have been some learnings you’ve had being a fitness instructor that you wish you knew when you first began?

No one else notices your mistakes as much as you do. Just keep going! The class will enjoy the workout and forget all about any cues you miss or silly things you may have said.

Any advice you’d give to brand new instructors?

Be authentic! Letting your true personality shine through is what allows your students to connect with you and it is what keeps them coming back.
